Design AIDD evaluated a stalled site project for a New York City bank to include preliminary zoning analyses with and without the potential purchase of Development Right Transfer (Air Rights) from an adjacent lot. This work includes preparing calculations showing maximum building area (with and without inclusionary housing), height limitations, setback and yard requirements, allowable lot coverage, density, and parking requirements in a multipage report with a plot plan drawing indicating the outline of building mass, permitted use groups, and conceptual building section. International Proposal—Affordable Housing in Africa
Design AIDD was on the shortlist to provide a 100,000-unit development of cluster housing for semi-rural and urban sites. This involved the use of local craftsmanship and materials such as "banco" brick and timber. We had configured the low-construction designs to resist earthquakes and monsoons.
